Balloon Care
We love creating balloons and we want you to enjoy them for as long as possible. Here is some information and tips to help you care for your balloons.
BALLOON FLOAT TIMES
The average float time depend on the environment, temperature and storage. We do not take any responsibility for float time variations and advise that this is a guide only.
We treat most of our balloons with hi-float which extends the float time by 2-3x
28cm Balloon: 16-24 hours
40cm Balloon: 24-48 hours
60cm Balloon: 2-4 days
90cm Balloon: 3-5 days
Foil Balloons: 2 days to 2 weeks
Bubble Balloons: 2 days to 2 weeks
HEAT, SUNLIGHT, & COLD
Helium expands in the heat and contracts in the cold. We recommend that you keep your balloons at a consistant room temperature.
Latex balloons are biodegradable so its normal that they oxidize (become cloudy) as they start to degrade. Heat, sun and humidity can accelerate this process.
Helium balloons can pop if they are exposed to heat & sun.
Mylar foil balloons can shrink if left in the cold or near air-conditioning. The good news is that they will puff back up once in a warm room
TRANSPORTING BALLOONS
If you are picking up your balloons, we supply all orders with a bag so that your balloons dont fly around. We suggest taking the balloons out of the bag once you arrive to your home or venue. Leaving helium balloons in the bag may reduce the float time.
We suggest that you come with an empty car, the bigger the car the better. Please check with the team before you come to see if your balloons will fit in your car.
Do not put your balloons into a hot car, have your air-conditioning on. Do not leave your balloons in a hot car as this can cause the balloons to pop. Ensure that you get your balloons home as quickly as possible.
Please do not put balloons & the transport bag next to a child in the backseat.
Please check for any sharp objects in the car and also when you are getting the balloons out of the car, such as trees, bricks, fences, doorways etc.
USING BALLOONS OUTSIDE
Balloons were not designed for outdoor use. Having said that, they can be sucessfully used outdoors with a few things in mind.
Heat and sunlight can cause balloons to pop. Dark colours are more likely to pop than lighter colours.
Balloons & wind do not mix. Make sure that all balloons are weighed and secured to prevent them from blowing away.
Please let us know if you are putting your helium balloons outside so that we can supply you with the appropriate weights.
BALLOON RELEASES
We do not supply balloons that are to be released into the environment. Balloons, as with all rubbish can be harmful to the environment.
Mylar foil balloons must not be released as they can conduct electricity if they come into contact with power lines. We supply all of our foil balloons with weights.
Please be responsible and do not release balloons into the environment. Remember, balloons aren’t the problem, humans are.
BALLOON DISPOSAL
Latex balloons are made from 100% degradable natural rubber and will gradually break down. We recommend that you dispose of your latex balloons with your general waste or compost bin.
Mylar foil balloons are not degradable but can be re-filled and reused. Once you are finished with your balloon, cut it open to release the helium and discard them in your recycle bin.
BALLOON SAFETY
Warning: Balloons are not toys. Children can choke or suffocate on broken or uninflated balloons. Children under the age of 8 years old should always be supervised when playing with balloons.
Although helium is non-toxic and non-flammable, do not inhale the helium. When helium is inhaled, it replaces the oxygen in your lungs. Inhaling helium can lead to asphyxiation and can be fatal.
